Additional accessibility information for the conference is detailed below:
Centre for Life is a step-free access venue. All locations to be used for the conference, including toilets, can be accessed without stairs. Access to these areas may include ramps or lifts.
Sessions will be taking place primarily in the fixed planetarium and the conference venue. Trade stands are set up in a third space next to the conference venue, which is where breaks will take place.
The fixed planetarium is an 80 capacity venue, including 71 fixed seats and 4 wheelchair spaces, and the ability to add unfixed moveable seating. Fixed seating has an internal width of 46cm/18.11” between armrests, or 56cm/22.04” including armrests. Seats provided for sessions hosted in the conference venue are not fixed.
Some sessions will be hosted in one of two mobile planetariums. The main entrance to these may require a small step through a zipped entrance, or for participants to crawl through a tunnel. Alternative access can be provided if participants are unable to enter the dome in this way. Please let someone know if you require alternative access at the start of the relevant session.
A quiet room, with access to a kitchenette and seating will be provided for anyone who requires it. Although anyone can use the space, including those who may use it as a quiet place to catch up on work, please be aware that this has been provided primarily for those who want a time out, and phone calls / video calls are not permitted within this space. The quiet room is located close to the main conference space, one level above, and is accessible either via a flight of stairs or the lift. Directions to the space will be sign posted on the day.
